This guide walks you through adding a File a claim button to your Shopify customer account pages. By giving customers a visible, easy way to file a shipping protection claim, you can help reduce unnecessary chargebacks.
Before you start
- You must have ParcelWILL Protection installed and published on your store.
- Your store must have Shopify customer accounts enabled (new customer accounts, not classic).
Set up the claim button
Step 1: Click "Add widget"
Go to ParcelWILL app > Protection > Settings. Scroll down to the Claim entry points section.

Next to Customer accounts, click the Add widget button. This opens Shopify's customer account editor in a new tab, taking you directly to the Order status page editor.

Step 2: Add the Protection block
Click Add block, then look for the ParcelWILL group. Select Protection - Order actions.

Step 2: Save and publish
Click Save. Then go back to ParcelWILL Protection settings β the Customer accounts badge should now show Added.

How it works for your customers
The button is only visible when the order is eligible for a claim. When a customer clicks File a claim, they're redirected to the claim center where they can submit their shipping issue. The customer's email and order details are passed automatically so they don't need to re-enter their information.

Customize button language
You can change the language and button text for the claim button.
- Language: The default language matches the language you've published in your Shopify admin. You can select a different language from the Languages dropdown in the Customer accounts settings.
- Button text: The default text is "File a claim". You can edit this in the Button text field to match your brand's tone (e.g., "Submit a claim", "Report an issue").
